Beginning in 2008, The Brandals received an email invitation from one of the staff performing the Esplanade (organizer venue where 'Baybeats' held). Until finally the new Brandals could appear on 22 August.

We set off Saturday (21 / 8) afternoon and arrived at Changi Airport at around 4 pm Singapore time. A mini-van from the committee was waiting to take us to the Hotel Royal Queen at Bras Basah area. After breaking the fast in Bugis (Maghrib arrived at 7.15 in Singapore!) We immediately walked to the Esplanade. Walking so far nearly 1.5 km and passed through the underpass that led us directly appear in the lobby of the Esplanade to enjoy the show 'Baybeats'.
Chill Out there held the stage where musicians and bands that appear tend to be more Downbeat and experimental. We proceeded to check the Powerhouse Stage. Although a bit difficult to move due to hectic with visitors, we arrived at the Powerhouse area which is being battered by Chicosci, emo band origin of the Philippines. In the midst of a sudden set Chicosci sang Carrie Underwood's one of the songs that made us wince with a strange-looking. Are They for Real?
Powerhouse stage is the biggest stage in the Esplanade area that seemed destined indeed look line-up with more hard and aggressive music. Stage of 10x6 m watered it looks magnificent colors with different lighting sound system at least 30 thousand watts of sound blasting maximum. Can not wait to invade the stage.
At around 10:30 pm we decided to go back to the hotel to rest. Had stopped briefly at City Hall for dinner, we walked back to the hotel. Enjoy these great buildings around and admire the architectural layout of the city of Singapore that never seems to stop for a renovated and improved quality. Do not run out the distance of time we think that must be achieved for the local government of Jakarta could reach the structure regularity of cosmopolitan Singapore. Perhaps this can be accomplished only five or six generations below us. Jakarta submerged if they have not been engulfed in the Java Sea.

We set off towards the Esplanade for the sound check is scheduled at 12:30 with our LO, Sham. Up there, Sham brings us to the underground area, located just below the Esplanade is quite broad. Arriving at the venue, all seen as competent technicians in the handling of instruments. Effective and efficient, precise timetable sound check completed within one hour.
Promptly at 6 we went to Esplanade. Arriving at the venue, we were immediately escorted to the backstage to get ready. On the stage there is the Zozi from Malaysia who was acting up promptly at 7 maalm. There are approximately 30-minute pause between the line-up given to adjust the appliance. In the living artists backstage we were busy sprinkle talcum powder all over the body (the tricks we stole from Nine Inch Nails on tour 'Downward Spiral') so that the entire room covered with white mist. Despite the existing ban for fear that the stage floor will be slippery, but we were desperate. What the heck, if it has been going diapain? hehehe ..
At around 7:30 we got on stage. Opening the set with the song 'Start Bleeding! " which will be released in the next album. Of course no-one any spectator who knew this song, but all look astonished gaze glued to the stage by the appearance of The Brandals a similar new bodies out of graves. Eka appear complete with dracula cape and provoke the audience with satire and farce to make the audience move.
At one point there was a small crowd who seem to foreigners from Europe / America that looks aggressive move and sway in place. Song after song with high intensity beat up the audience. A series of three tracks taken from album The Brandals like 'City Boy', 'Moonlight Child', 'Vague n' Hollow 'and the new number Love Detox played. "Does anyone here drink and did drugs?" Eka said the gap in cash collection of Western songs and had raised their glasses and cried out "YEAAHH!"
Approximately 30 minutes The Brandals pounding the total seven songs with enthusiastic reception from the audience. Although this is the second appearance in Singapore (the first time at Art House in 2007), many may not know the Brandals. But that does not reduce the high response to motion. Closing song 'Black Boy Blues Dynamite' invite mass choir becomes satisfying climax orgasm between personnel and spectators.
Finished packing the instrument, we would slip backstage to meet Igor Cavalera and his wife Laima Leyton who was very friendly. We see the appearance Mixhell in the first 15 minutes managed to lift the audience hysteria with the results of mixing electro / Baile funk / tropicalia Igor plus a drum beat mercilessly.
After eating dinner at a food stall, we entered the bus, it already exists two Caucasian men who had been screaming when we perform. Girl-boy pairs are immediately greeted and praised the performances of The Brandals. "Awesome man! You've killed it! It was great!" so they said.
Once acquainted, we were surprised because there are absurdly two people are, and Boeckner & Alexei Perry, Handsome furs personnel who also performed that night at the Arena Stage. From our conversation also turned out just to know if Wolf Parade Boeckner also personnel from the label Sub Pop Records.
One thing that makes us admire them very unusual is friendly. A genuine music fans enjoy the new WHO experience and meeting new bands. Comparing with the new Indonesian musicians popular local level but arogannya already exorbitant. Arriving at the hotel we had time to take pictures before the break, making the mission a satisfactory closing. Rocking out the 'Baybeats', Igor Cavalera meeting and a brief chit chat with Handsome furs. A Good Day's worth of work! Until then our next gig!
